Stainless Steel Reinforcement
Non-corroding stainless reinforcing steel protects structures where corrosion threatens ordinary rebar – at edges, in chloride zones and with low cover.
When stainless is required
In chloride-laden environments – car parks, bridges, seawater, de-icing salt – or with low concrete cover, non-corroding reinforcement is the durable solution. Grades 1.4571, 1.4404 and duplex 1.4462 offer far higher corrosion resistance.
Grades & forms
Supplied as bar, bent shapes and mesh in various stainless grades, chosen by exposure class and required service life.
FAQ about stainless steel reinforcement
Why stainless instead of normal rebar?
Chlorides destroy the passive layer of unalloyed steel. Stainless stays durably corrosion-resistant even with low cover.
Is stainless reinforcement more expensive?
Higher in purchase, often cheaper over the life cycle because repairs are avoided.
